"I didn't value hiking when I was growing up... my whole family loved heading out to the trails on the weekends, but I would only go for the snacks (and because, well, what else would I do as a 7-year-old while my family is all out hiking?). As I've gotten older, I've come to love hiking in the PNW. My love for it started in college, when I started to feel a little stressed out and needed to find a healthy escape. I turned to the woods and it gave back more than I ever could have expected. Hiking has brought me some of my best ideas, greatest memories, strongest bonding experiences, and most instagrammable photos. I've had the opportunity to hike in Chile, Argentina, Peru, Tanzania, Nicaragua, Australia, Vietnam, and Indonesia -- but the PNW has my whole heart. Come explore this splendor for yourself!" -Emily
"I'm the mom that dragged Emily out hiking as a kid. I've always been an avid hiker, having summited Mt. Rainier, Mt. St. Helens (before and after the eruption), Mt. Kilimanjaro, and several other peaks. What I love most about hiking is the peacefulness. As I stare into the reflective, shimmering crystal glacial water, I take time to reflect on my own life. It is by getting in touch with nature that I get in touch with myself. While I enjoy the solitude, I also love the time to connect with my hiking mates (and dogs!) I'd love to show you some of my favorite spots!" -Lisa
